great,
I love this. I bought this item to cut holes in mini pumpkins for my wedding. I tried it out on apples and pumpkins. Pumpkins were a little tough but it still worked well.

Sturdy tool for making tealight sized holes in things,
I almost did not purchase this item. I read a description of it saying that it was made of plastic and metal. The tool itself is all metal; there is a plastic cover for the sharp edges.
I used the tool for cutting a hole for a tealight in a block of beeswax. Beeswas is very hard. I had to press hard and then chisel out the area. But….It worked! Next time, I will warm up the beeswax a bit to make it softer.
This gadget sort of reminds me a an apple pealer. It has a small bar with angled cutting edges about 1/3″ up from the bottom. You have to keep turning it and shaving the material off (potatoe, beeswax, whatever).
I did use it on a potatoe just to see how that would work. That was much easier. If you want the hole very deep, you will have to keep turning for a while.
