Wooden spoon have been used in villages probably until 1950th
It was a custom to eat from one “kotelok” (pot).
Order of priority was strictly enforced.
If a kid ate without turn he received blow in a forehead by wooden spoon.
Since then there is a general Russian expression: “Behave yourself or you can receive blow by spoon on a forehead” (Not sure for exact translation)…
