Blessed by the Pope?
Hi, I have a question. I'm not Catholic or religious at all, but my girlfriend told me I was blessed by Pope as 7 times in his life. (She is 17). How important is this to be a Catholic?
Since the pope is the leader that God designed the universal Church, and he who is given authority to distribute the graces obtained by meritorious work of Jesus Christ, the apostles, and all the saints, papal blessing is extremely important. I hope you get answers to Protestants who say that a papal blessing is negligible, or even wrong. Ignore them. The facts are the facts … and the fact is that the Pope is chief representative of God on earth, the legitimate successor of St. Peter the Apostle, who was sworn in as Pope by Jesus Christ himself. Since we have a pope of today, just as always, the story reveals the truth about the papacy. The Pope received his authority directly from Jesus Christ. The office of the Pope was God's idea. Nature hierarchy of the Church, the Pope and the bishops as chief pastors was also the idea of God. Finally, Jesus Christ gave the pope and the bishops the power to bind and loose (By politics and the church to change), both on earth and in heaven. In light of this absolute authority and God-given supernatural blessing of the Pope is almost as well as a blessing from God. Moreover, given the fact that generally indicates the number seven spiritual realization that his girlfriend was completely true and blessed. A papal blessing is powerful and beneficial for believers and nonbelievers. Believers are absolutely unable to take full advantage of it.
